Ruth Hendrickson

Ruth Hendrickson
Chief People Officer Advisor
Ruth works at the intersection of business strategy and the human condition. With more than 25 years of executive and advisory experience, she understands the business levers needed to launch, scale, and transform organizations—and the people strategies that turn ambition into results.
Her career began in social work and grew into global HR and executive leadership across for-profit and nonprofit organizations. That combination shapes her approach: understand the business, listen closely, and help leaders find a useful path forward.
As Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer at Altais, Ruth helped scale the organization through three acquisitions and expanded clinical operations. Today, Altais supports more than 10,000 physicians and advanced-practice clinicians serving over 500,000 patients. Previously, she led the people integration of Care1st into Blue Shield of California and helped establish UnitedHealth Group’s inaugural campus in India, reaching approximately 2,000 employees in the first two years. Her background also includes Deloitte and board service with Jeremiah Program during its national expansion.
As a Nua CPO Advisor, Ruth partners with CEOs, boards, founders, and people leaders navigating growth, transitions, and transformation. She brings a strong mission orientation, candor, compassion, and a bias toward getting meaningful work done.
Ruth lives in Walnut Creek, California, and studies acting and performance—a creative counterpoint to her executive work and an ongoing interest in how people communicate and connect.
